Description
Seven Stained Glass windows approximately 30.5” x 66.5” each were designed for and installed in Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney’s MacDougal Alley Studio in1918.

These windows are comprised of the most fantastic, almost drug-induced visions of sea and celestial creatures, both menacing and friendly. The panels are heavily painted in vitreous paint, silver stain and enamels creating detailed fantasies reflecting the mystical work of Harry Clarke. Many of these creatures are placed beneath beautifully acid etched plates of cobalt, purple and green.
